This process is a two-step process.
STEP 1: Go to www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in and click on the left pane that is ‘Link Aadhaar’
STEP 2: Enter your PIN number, Aadhaar number and then enter your name exactly same as given in the Aadhar card (avoid the spelling mistakes) and then submit. After verification from Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) which is the government’s website for Aadhaar.
After this, the linking will be confirmed successfully.
Note: In case, the Aadhar name mismatches to the provided one then, Aadhaar OTP will be needed.
Please make sure that the date of birth and the gender in the PAN card and the Aadhaar card are exactly the same.
In case, the name completely mismatches the name in Aadhar card and the name in PAN card then, the process will be failed and the taxpayer will have to either change his/her name in the PAN card or the Aadhar card.
The process for linking Aadhaar number with PAN is also available after the person login to the income tax website.
Following are the steps for this :
STEP 1: The person has to register himself/herself to the income tax e-filing portal if he/she is not registered yet. Register yourself through this link given: https://incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in/
STEP 2: Now, login to the Income Tax e-filing portal by entering your Login ID, password, and date of birth.
STEP 3: After logging in to your ID you will see a pop-up window which will ask you to link your
