How to link Aadhar number to PAN?

Aadhaar is a 12 digit unique number for the identity of citizens of India. For every Indian citizen, it is mandatory to have a registered   aadhar number.

The biometric data for each citizen of India was collected by Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) which is an authority established in January 2009 by the government of India.

Aadhaar is the most advanced Identity Proof in the world.

Also, aadhar has replaced the ration card which was earlier a proof of being a citizen of India.

The deadline to link aadhar to PAN number is 31st March 2018 after which the income tax department will not process the income tax returns until the person’s PAN and Aadhaar are linked. The Income Tax Department has made it effortless for the taxpayers to link Aadhar with PAN number. This process does not need any login or registration at the e-filing website.

This process is a two-step process.

After this, the linking will be confirmed successfully.

Note: In case, the Aadhar name mismatches to the provided one then, Aadhaar OTP will be needed.
